2016 Mothers Day members dinner gathering

To celebrate Mother’s Day, the HakkaWA Women’s League organised a members dinner gathering on the 14 May at Happy Union Chinese Restaurant in Kardinya.

Secretary-General, Jonas Yong was the master of ceremony for the night. The gathering kicked off with a speech by President Cr. Keith Yong who also explained the meaning of Mother’s Day in HakkaWA’s context followed by distribution of a fresh stem of rose to every mother by HakkaWA Youths.

Entertainment for the night includes:

• singing of Mother’s Day Song, partially sung in Hakka by John Yapp’s group
• singing of Mother’s Day Song 世上只有妈妈好 led by the Women’s League
• performance of Chinese folk song 我要向山举目 by John Yapp’s group
• singing of Hakka Mountain Song by Mr Gian Wong.

The event concluded with cake cutting ceremony by all the mothers and door prizes lucky draw.
