For the Perth Chinese New Year Fair on 9 February 2014 at Northbridge, our Kilin (Unicorn) Dance Troupe lead by a few Honorary Advisors and ExCo members, with a total of fifteen members, including children, accepted the invitation by a dragon and lions dance troupe to join them them, historically created the first dragon-unicorn-lion dance troupe in Australia.
Hakka kiu nyuk cooking demonstration
A kiu nyuk (扣肉) cooking demonstration was organised by the HakkaWA Women’s League, held at the residence of Anita Chong, Secretary of the HakkaWA Women’s League, and James Chong, Honorary Advisor of HakkaWA.
Calligraphy by Mr Voon Sham Choi
Mr Voon Sham Choi (温三财老先生), an elderly retired Headmaster from Sri Aman, Sarawak, Malaysia paid a visit to our Hakka Association of Western Australia Inc. and was warmly welcomed and received by the President Keith Yong。He donated a piece of his calligraphy collection to the Association for sale, all proceeds will be donated to HakkaWA.
Hakka Association of WA celebrates 4th Anniversary of local and international presence
The Hakka Association of Western Australia Inc. celebrated its 4th anniversary at Serai Dining in North Lake Road, Bibra Lake on 1st December. The occasion was attended by the Deputy Consul-General of PRC in Perth, as well as community leaders and dignitaries.

171 members and guests gathered on 1 December 2013 at Serai Dining in Bibra Lake, WA, to celebrate the Association’s 4th Anniversary of coming into being.
