A group of HakkaWA members visited Hakka Territories in Southern China from 27 February to 5 March 2011. Some of the cities visited includes Shantou, Chaozhou, Yongding (in Fujian province), Meizhou, Longchuan, Heyaun, Huizhou and Shenzhen.

永定 is the capital of Hakka tulou 客家土楼， 围楼。
Day 5 Meizhou 梅州, 梅县
Toured 叶剑英元帅故居，and met with 叶帅的侄儿叶选番。
Day 6 Longchuan 龙川县
Day 7 Heyaun, Huizhou, Shenzhen 河源，惠州，深圳
The group dispersed at Shenzhen after the seventh day. All stayed at least one more night at Shenzhen; some stayed more nights for shopping; some proceeded to Guangzhou; some went to Malaysia and the rest proceeded to Hong Kong and then back to Perth.
