HakkaWA Celebrates 17 Years of Community, Culture and Connection 3 May 2026

1 June 2026

The Hakka Association of Western Australia (HakkaWA) proudly celebrated its 17th Anniversary on 3 May 2026, marking another significant milestone in the Association’s journey of preserving Hakka culture, fostering community spirit, and strengthening connections across generations.

The celebration was attended by a strong crowd of members, families, friends, and supporters who came together to commemorate this special occasion. The event showcased the vibrant traditions and talents of the Hakka community through a variety of cultural performances and activities.

Guests were treated to captivating Hakka cultural dances and musical performances by HakkaWA members, highlighting the rich heritage and artistic talents within our community. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by exciting lucky draws, creating moments of joy and anticipation throughout the day.

A delicious selection of food and wine was enjoyed by attendees, providing an opportunity for members and guests to connect, share stories, and celebrate the achievements of the Association over the past seventeen years.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the ceremonial anniversary cake cutting, symbolising HakkaWA’s continued growth, unity, and commitment to serving the Hakka community in Western Australia. Members and guests joined together in recognising the dedication of past and present committee members, volunteers, and supporters whose contributions have helped shape the Association’s success.

HakkaWA extends its sincere appreciation to all members, performers, volunteers, sponsors, and guests who participated in making the event such a memorable occasion. The strong attendance and enthusiastic participation reflect the enduring strength of the Hakka spirit and the vibrant future of our community.

As HakkaWA enters its 18th year, the Association remains committed to promoting Hakka culture, supporting community engagement, and building meaningful connections for future generations.
